April 8, 2020: COVID-19 Update

SPECIAL HOURS FOR EASTER DAY & MONDAY, APRIL 13:
All Dierbergs stores will continue our tradition of being closed on Easter Sunday this year, so our Associates can have the day off to be with their families. We will reopen at noon on Monday, 4/13, to give store Associates an opportunity to enjoy some additional rest. "Our team shows up daily with great energy and a desire to serve our communities,” said Greg Dierberg, CEO of Dierbergs Markets. "We’re very appreciative of the tremendous levels of adaptability they continue to demonstrate in this ever-changing environment." Stores will close Monday night at 9 p.m.

Beginning Tuesday, 4/14, all store locations will be open from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily, with 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. being a reserved time for those with compromised immune systems and adults age 60 or older.

KEEPING EVERYONE SAFE:
We are asking our customers to not enter the store if they are exhibiting symptoms of a fever above 100.4, shortness of breath, chills, aches or cough. Remember to avoid touching your face, and of course, please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.

As a reminder, customers should always exercise an abundance of caution when in public settings - washing hands frequently, covering one’s nose and mouth with a CDC recommended face covering, and not touching your face (or cell phone and other personal belongings) until hands are sanitized again- while also being aware of and calling your doctor if Covid-19 like symptoms develop such as aches, chills, fever above 100.4, cough, or shortness of breath.

April 5, 2020: COVID-19 Update

ONE CART = ONE CUSTOMER PER HOUSEHOLD:
Dierbergs will be promoting and implementing a 1 cart = 1 customer per household approach to help with social and physical distancing. Customers are asked to send only one person per household to the store to help maintain the allowable limit of people in the building. Additionally, it is recommended that individuals who typically enlist the help of others to complete their shopping should only send that person.

We understand this is not a one size fits all approach and sometimes exceptions need to be made. But we’re looking to everyone to do their part to keep everyone as safe as possible, and we appreciate your patience as we all navigate this unprecedented environment together.

RESPONSE TO GOVERNER PARSON’S ’STAY HOME MISSOURI’ ORDER:
Starting April 6th, in accordance with Governor Parson’s ‘Stay Home Missouri’ Order, all 23 Dierbergs Markets locations in Missouri will begin limiting the number of customers allowed inside at any given time. Once a store has reached capacity, waiting lines will begin forming at clearly designated entrances outside of the store. The two Illinois locations in Edwardsville and Shiloh will also adopt this new policy to ensure social distancing requirements are followed.

TEMPORARY HOLIDAY HOURS:
Dierbergs will also offer temporary holiday operating hours, opening two hours earlier on the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before Easter, April 9 - 11. Stores will be open on these days from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with 6 a.m.to 7 a.m. being a reserved time for those with compromised immune systems and adults age 60 or older. (Our Warson Woods store will be open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through the 11th.)

April 1, 2020: COVID-19 Update

CUSTOMERS ASKED TO LIMIT ONE SHOPPER PER HOUSEHOLD:
To help with social distancing, we are encouraging Customers to only send one shopper per household to the store. Unless necessary, Customers should consider leaving additional family members at home. We suggest planning ahead by having members of your household contribute to the grocery list so one individual can make the trip. We will continue to work toward having the food and supplies stocked on our shelves for everyone on the list.

REMINDER TO WASH HANDS & SOCIAL DISTANCE:
When you do visit the store, Customers are asked to wash your hands at the provided sinks before enter and after leaving the store. Additionally, signs have been placed as visual cues throughout stores to serve as reminders to social distance. The recommendation from the CDC is to keep six feet of distance between yourself and others.

PROTECTIVE BANDANAS & EYEWEAR FOR ASSOCIATES:
Customers may begin seeing some of our store Associates wearing bandanas and/or protective eyewear. While these provided tools are optional protective measures, Dierbergs is strongly recommending that individuals take advantage of the new gear to help protect themselves as they are working in our stores; and are working to educate associates how to safely wear bandanas and face masks to prevent unintentional transmission of germs via their hands. The CDC has recommended the use of bandanas when masks are not available (currently N95 respiratory masks have been prioritized for hospitals and first responders). Associates also have the option to bring wear their own mask as well.

RECYCLING SERVICES TEMPORARILY ON HOLD:
Due to current circumstances, the recycling company has suspended their pick up for the plastic grocery bags turned in at our stores. Individuals wishing to recycle are encouraged to hang onto these bags for when the service has started again. One STL would like to remind Customers to not place plastic grocery bags into their residential recycling cans. Plastic bags jam machinery at recycling facilities; causing equipment malfunctions, which may put workers at risk for injuries.

March 24, 2020: COVID-19 Update

EXTRA BONUS FOR EXTRA EFFORT:
Dierbergs is announcing a bonus program to compensate Store Associates, who work directly with customers, who have been working tirelessly, and with great dedication, during the quickly evolving COVID-19 environment. As new protocols are created, Associates have ramped up efforts not just around cleaning and sanitizing our stores; but also keeping our shelves stocked to the best of our ability. “This effort isn’t going unnoticed,” said Greg Dierberg, President and CEO. “Dierbergs wants to recognize and thank our Associates for their extraordinary commitment. Even during these uncertain times, they continue to remain focused on serving our customers.”

Store Associates hired on or before March 1, 2020, are eligible for the bonus program, which includes:

-- $2 premium per hour for regular hours, and
-- $3 premium per hour for overtime.

The bonus program will be calculated based on hours worked from March 16 – April 26, 2020. Dierbergs will also be releasing enhancements to benefits in the form of Leave Support Pay for COVID-19 related issues for our all Associates hired on or before March 1, 2020.

FLOWERS AVAILABLE IN STORES, DELIVERY NOT AVAILABLE:
At this time, we will continue to carry a variety of beautiful flower bouquets, arrangements and plants in our stores. However, with the current “stay at home” order for St. Louis County, we will no longer be able to accept and fulfill orders for delivery until the ordinance is lifted. In-store orders will be accepted for pick-up only and are subject to variety of flowers available in store. As a reminder, from now until April 2nd, 25% of the proceeds from any in-store, fresh floral purchases will go directly to Angels' Arms to ensure their foster children are receiving the food and nutrition they need.

March 22, 2020: COVID-19 Update

OUR STORES ARE OPEN:
As stay-at-home orders go into effect, Dierbergs locations will continue to remain open. We are an essential business and will maintain our current hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., reserving the first hour of the day for those individuals at heightened risks of COVID-19.

CHANGES AT OUR CHECKOUT:
Starting Monday, 3/23, Dierbergs shoppers will begin noticing a difference at checkout lanes as we begin to install plexiglass partitions at the registers. This is an effort to create a safer environment for customers and Associates during the coronavirus pandemic. The partitions are an added safety measure to go "above and beyond" the protocols Dierbergs Associates are already operating under, which includes sanitizing commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations, self-checkouts, credit card terminals, conveyor belts, and door handles. The installation will be complete by Tuesday, 3/24.

NO RETURNS, REFUNDS OR RAINCHECKS:
In light of numerous unknowns surrounding the transmission of COVID-19, we cannot ensure the safety of items that have left our store. As a result, we are unable to accept any returns or issue refunds at this time. Additionally, due to supplier shortages on items, we cannot guarantee advertised specials will be in stock and will no longer be offering rain checks. We appreciate our customers’ understanding as we work to maintain a safe and well-stocked environment for both our shoppers and Associates.

March 20, 2020: COVID-19 Update

SHIPT EXPERIENCING DELAYS:
Our partners at Shipt are currently experiencing delays in their ability to fulfill delivery orders for customers. The exceptionally high demand can limit their turn around time as well as product availability on orders you place.

LIMITED SERVICES:
For the safety and concern for our customers, many of our in-store services have been paused, including our seafood cooked-to-order service, full-service meat counters and our salad bar and olive bar self-service areas. We will move to a variety of prepackaged selections to our grab-and-go cases in the produce, deli, meat and seafood departments. Our stores will make every effort to keep product available. Additionally, in order to prioritize efforts toward the immediate needs of our customers, our Kitchen and Bakery teams are unable to take any catering orders until further notice.

March 19, 2020: COVID-19 Update

AVAILABILITY OF GROCERIES:
Please be advised that we are experiencing delayed deliveries from our distributors. We are doing our very best to keep our shelves stocked to meet the needs of all shoppers. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee that the orders will be delivered, unpacked and restocked by 8 a.m. each day. Thank you for your ongoing patience.

REUSABLE BAGS:
Beginning tomorrow, March 20th, we are asking customers to leave their reusable grocery bags at home. Our Associates will be packing customer purchases in single use paper or plastic bags. Unfortunately, any reusable grocery bags brought from home will not be used.

March 18, 2020: COVID-19 Update

ADJUSTED STORE HOURS:
All store locations are now open 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. daily. This temporary change will allow associates additional time to clean the stores, restock shelves and recharge during these high-demand times.

RESERVED SHOPPING HOUR FOR AT-RISK CUSTOMERS:
Customers are asked to reserve 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. each day for those shoppers who are at a higher risk of severe illness by COVID-19, which includes older adults (60+) and individuals who have compromised immune systems. If you are healthy and not at-risk, we are asking you to not shop during these hours. It's a small request, but may have a positive impact on this group that is most vulnerable.

ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS & SAFETY MEASURES:
For the safety of our customers and associates, we are implementing additional precautions to the steps we’ve always taken to provide you with a safe and clean shopping experience. Here are some of the increased measures to ensure the safest possible shopping and working environment:

-- Sanitizing commonly used areas more often, including cashier stations, self-checkouts, credit card terminals, conveyor belts, and door handles.
-- Providing our customers with free disinfectant wipes at our store entrances to sanitize their shopping carts or baskets.
-- Providing hand washing stations outside our entrances for customers and associates.
-- Offering hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and convenient access to bathrooms for hand washing for both associates and customers.
-- Communicating with our associates to follow precautionary measures, such as avoiding touching their eyes, nose, and mouth; exercise appropriate controls when sneezing or coughing, and wash their hands frequently to avoid transmission of germs.
-- Above all, we have asked our associates not to report to work if they are experiencing flu like symptoms or a cough, fever, or shortness of breath.

SELF-SERVE ITEMS (I.E. PRODUCE, BAKERY, PREPARED FOOD):
The health and safety of our customers and associates is our priority. Every day we follow strict food safety policies and procedures designed to ensure a safe environment for all. For customers who would prefer a packaged product, most self-serve items are also available pre-packaged in other parts of the store.

KEEPING ESSENTIALS ON THE SHELVES:
We are diligently working with suppliers to ensure that the food, medicine and cleaning supplies are reaching our stores as quickly as possible. Additionally, to maximize the opportunity for customers to have access to certain items, we have taken the precautionary step to limit the number of cleaning, sanitary, and paper products per order.

ALTERNATIVE SHOPPING SOLUTIONS:
For those customers that need to, or prefer to avoid public places, we partner with Shipt. They’re an excellent partner of ours and offer your preference of curbside pickup outside our stores or delivery to your home.
