Product Recall: Tyson Fully Cooked & Dierbergs Deli Pulled Chicken

St. Louis, July 4, 2021 - In response to a voluntary product recall, Dierbergs Markets has removed all Tyson Fully Cooked Frozen Chicken products (16-25 oz.) from the Meat Department and has also pulled all Pulled Chicken and Pulled Rotisserie Chicken Breast from its Delis and Central Kitchen facility because of the possibility of contamination with Listeria monocytogenes:

The recall was initiated by Tyson Foods, Inc. and involved approximately 8.5 million pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken. Tyson has been working closely with the U.S. Department of Agriculture on this recall, and while there is no conclusive evidence that the products were contaminated at the time of shipment, the voluntary recall is being initiated out of an abundance of caution.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

More information on this recall can be found on Tyson's website.

Customers who have purchased any of the recalled product are urged not to consume these Tyson products or any pulled chicken recently purchased from Dierbergs Deli and return it for a full refund. Consumers with further questions should call or text 1-855-382-3101. Tyson customer service representatives will be available beginning Sunday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. CDT.
